I’m probably not alone on this: on more than one occasion I’ve imagined owning my own car company. For some reason a random thought popped into my brain tonight. If I had a car company, I’d be tempted to call it: Idea. To paraphrase Victor Hugo: “Nothing is stronger than an idea whose time has come.”

How about you, Opponauts? Ever imagined having your own car company? If so, what would you call it?

Neosport, and I’ve even modeled some cars for it, like the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma.

“Oppositelock”

All my cars would be brown, have manuals, as little air bags as possible, and stupid amounts of power. I fully expect my company to go bankrupt in a week

Hah, nice! But I bet you’d at least make a bunch of people on a particular website very happy.

I’d revive Packard, Studebaker, AMC and DeSoto in a joint venture with FCA, have Packard make true American luxury sedans, with a factory in Detroit, adjacent to the DeSoto/AMC factory, where they would make entry level DeSoto luxury cars (ala Buick, Lincoln), and AMC who would make more mainstream cars (Revived Gremlin based off the Challenger platform, revived Javelin off the Challenger, new Rambler based off the Dart, and a new Hornet based off the Charger), then Studebaker would make entry level cars in both South Bend and Hamilton. (Lark, based off the Dart/Rambler, Commander, based off the 200, Champion, based off the Charger, and a new Avanti, based off the Challenger). All would be available with manuals, except the Packards, which would come with a free chauffeur because why the hell not. Not only that, but the dealer network would also sell imported Ladas, because why not, and Renaults, because AMC did that in the 80s, so why not again? The whole conglomerate would be called AMC Group.
